May's Pain Relief Recipes!

Here are your May recipes! In May, we are focusing on using food for pain and inflammation relief. The following recipes are delicious, anti-inflammatory, and a rich source of vitamins and minerals. Enjoy!

Arthritis Relief Detox

15 minutes prep time  |  Makes 1 serving

This juice helps flush out arthritis toxins and relieves inflammation.

Makes: 1 large serving

Juice:

large handful spinach

large handful parsley

large handful watercress

5 carrots (with tops)

3 radishes

1 tbsp. Bragg’s Liquid Aminos

DIRECTIONS:

Juice the spinach, parsley, watercress, carrots, and radishes. Add the Bragg’s Liquid Aminos.

White Gazpacho

1 hour prep time | Makes 6 servings

I often have this as a healthy soup. 

Makes: 6 servings

Ingredients:

1 long European cucumber, peeled and diced

¼ tsp. garlic-lemon seasoning

2 cups plain low-fat yogurt

2 cups onion broth

2 tbsp. lemon juice

½ cup white wine

½ cup water

2 tbsp. fresh cilantro leaves, chopped

2 tbsp. green onions, chopped

1 tbsp. fresh basil, chopped

DIRECTIONS:
In a blender, blend the cucumber, garlic-lemon seasoning, yogurt, ½ cup of the onion broth and the lemon juice. Pour into a large soup pot with: the remainder of the onion broth, white wine, and ½ cup water. Stir and heat gently until smooth. Remove from heat. Top with cilantro leaves, green onions, basil. Chill in the fridge for 1 – 2 hours before serving. Makes 6 servings.
